Flossie Malavialle is a French singer who started
getting involved on the folk scene in 2001 while
she was on a teachers’ exchange in the North East
of England. In the last 8 years, her profile has
gone from strength to strength, playing at folk
clubs and festivals all over the UK and beyond. Her
collection of 8 albums is a reminder of how much
work and dedication she has put into her music
career: from well established folk songs to jazz
standards, blues numbers to Edith Piaf and Jacques
Brel’s classics, her wide répertoire always seems
to suit every taste. She was chosen by successful
folk duo Show of Hands to support their 2009 County
Town Autumn Tour and has been acknowledged as an
upcoming talent on BBC radio 2 by Mike Harding who
chose to play her live rendition of Jacques Brel’s
“Amsterdam” and described it as one of the best
versions he had ever heard. She will also team up
with Keith Donnelly to support Fairport Convention
on their 2010 Wintour and together they have
recorded an album called “Dark Horses”, which will
be available at the end of January 2010.
